The BNO Foundation adapted its distribution methods to reach Makoko, Lagos’s distinctive waterfront community. Volunteers navigated the settlement’s unique geography to deliver food boxes to families living in homes built on stilts above the water. This outreach addressed acute food insecurity in one of Lagos’s most vulnerable communities, where most residents earn less than $2 daily and face limited access to basic amenities.
